Elementary students are very much a part of who we are at Dairy Road Discovery Center. We are pleased to service the following area elementary schools for before and after school care: Meadowlane, West Melbourne School for Science, and Pineapple Cove Classical Academy (West Melbourne campus).
Included in your weekly, flat rate tuition is transportation, a selection of after school snacks, access to a quiet homework room, as well as organized games and activities for your school aged child. We purposefully designate our classes by grade level and keep our ratios at or below state mandates in 4 groups: Kindergarten and TK-1, First Graders, Second and Third Graders, and Fourth-Sixth Graders. Each group has a consistent rotation schedule that includes indoor and outdoor organized games and activities with enthusiastic staff members and includes weekly cooking, one movie day per week, sports, arts and crafts, and more!
We take transportation and dismissal procedures very seriously at DRDC and you can rest assured that if your child is expected to be on our van in the afternoon, our staff member will NOT leave the elementary school without notification from the parent or an elementary school staff member telling them that your child has made other arrangements. That being said, it is of utmost importance that parents remember to keep our front desk informed of any changes in your dismissal plans, or if your child is absent from elementary school for any reason.
Children who are enrolled in our before and after school program are also eligible to come to DRDC on school holidays, Christmas and Spring Break and, best of all, Summer Camp! A list of days that DRDC is closed is published each January for the entire year, but they are a limited number of days. Don’t stress about the teacher workdays or the early dismissal days- we’ve got you covered!
