Animal Encounters
Parents and kids love the zoo! It’s the perfect place for children to learn and explore. Visit Brevard Zoo for a chance to see some of their 900+ animals. Visitors can mingle with lemurs, go on a guided kayak tour, or feed giraffes. Visit Paws On to cool off in the lagoon or see the aquarium and touch tank. At the Petting Zone, kids can interact with goats, alpacas, armadillos, and more.
For a unique and up-close experience, visit Lion Country Drive-Through Safari Park. Lion Country is a “cageless zoo” that gives visitors the experience of being on an African safari. Lions, zebras, and chimpanzees are just some of the 1,000 animals that you have a chance to encounter. Safari World, the walkthrough section of the park, has a water play area, a carousel, a petting zoo, and animal feeding opportunities.
Soak Up the Sun at the Beach
There are countless beaches on Florida’s Space Coast. Millennium Beach Park and Jetty Park Beach are both kid-friendly and have plenty of amenities. Millennium Beach Park has a playground, picnic tables, grills, and an outdoor shower. Jetty Park Beach has calmer waters than some of the other beaches on the Coast, making it the perfect place for kids. They have a playground, campgrounds, a pier for fishing, and a rental service for equipment like chairs, paddleboards, or kayaks.
Space Coast Museums
For a slice of Space Coast history, visit the Kennedy Space Center. Learn about space exploration and the astronauts who helped shape it from its early stages to the present. See real rockets at the Rocket Garden, get behind the scenes access to launch sites, or experience a simulated space shuttle launch.
If your little one loves dinosaurs, then they’ll love Dinosaur World. It’s an outdoor museum with life-sized dinosaur sculptures and a dinosaur-themed playground. Or check out the Dinosaur Store and Museum. Kids can pan for fossils, watch dinosaur-themed movies, see live reptiles, and learn about dinosaurs and ancient cultures.
The Perfect Place to Play
Children’s museums are perfect for days when the weather isn’t cooperating. At the Boca Raton Children’s Museum, your child will have a blast playing and exploring in their themed rooms. They have a storytelling tent, a grocery store themed room, and a sensory room, to name a few of the fun preschool activities they offer.
Preschoolers will also enjoy the Explorations V Children’s Museum, which has three floors of interactive exhibits that will keep children engaged for hours. Another place where your child can play indoors is the Rain or Shine Indoor Play Center. They have play tables and play structures, as well as a gaming room for kids seven and up. Plus, they have a snack bar and coffee for parents!
